Cookie policy

Cookies and other tracking systems

This cookie policy refers exclusively to the website (“Websites”) and is deemed to be an integral part of the Privacy Policy of the same.

Definitions, characteristics, and application of the legislation

Cookies are small text files that the websites visited by the user send and record on his/her personal computer or any other device, even mobile, to then be re-transmitted to the same websites at the next visit. Thanks to cookies, a website remembers the user’s actions and preferences (such as login data, the chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be re-indicated when the user revisits the website or browse from one page to another. Cookies are used for computer authentication, session monitoring and to store information about users who log on to a website, and may also contain a unique identification code that enables them to track user navigation within the website for statistical purposes or advertising. When browsing a website, users may also receive, on their computer or mobile device, cookies from websites or web servers other than the one they are visiting (so-called “third-party” cookies). Some operations could not be performed without the use of cookies, which in some cases are therefore technically necessary for the same functioning of the website.

There are several types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and these may remain on your computer or mobile device for different time periods: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when you close your browser; so-called persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s computer/device for a set time.

According to the legislation in force in Italy, the user’s express consent is not always required for the use of cookies. In particular, “technical cookies”, namely those used for the sole purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, do not require such consent. In other words, these are cookies which are essential for the operation of the website or necessary to perform activities requested by the user.

Among technical cookies, which do not require express consent for their use, the Italian Data Protection Authority (see Order on identifying the simplified procedures for the information and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies of 8 May 2014, hereinafter referred to as “Order”) also includes:

  • “cookie analytics”, where used directly by the website operator to collect information, in aggregated form, on the number of users and how they visit the website itself,
  • navigation or session cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for instance, purchases or login to protected areas);
  • functionality cookies, which allow users to browse the website based on the selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to them.

“Profiling cookies”, on the other hand, which are those used to create user profiles and to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by users when browsing the website, require the user’s prior consent.

Types of cookies used by this Website

This Website uses the following types of cookies, and offers the possibility to de-select the same, except for third-party cookies for which the user must refer directly to the relative methods of selection and de-selection of the respective cookies, indicated at this link:

Technical cookies – navigation or session cookies – strictly necessary for the website to function or to allow users to make use of the contents and services requested.

Analytics cookies, which allow the Website manager to understand how the site is used by users. With these cookies we do not collect information about the user’s identity or any personal data. Such information is processed in an aggregate and anonymous manner.

Functionality cookies, uused to activate specific functions of the Website and a series of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.

ATTENTION: by disabling technical and/or functional cookies, the Website may not be available or certain services or certain functions of the Website may be unavailable or may not work properly, and the user may be forced to change or manually enter certain information or preferences every time they visit the Website.

The Controller uses third-party cookies, namely website or web server cookies other than that of the Controller, used for the purposes of such third parties, including analytics and profiling cookies. Please note that said third parties, listed below with the relative hyperlinks to their privacy policies, act as independent controllers of data collected through sent cookies. Therefore, the user must refer to their policies on the processing of personal data, information, and any forms of consent collection (selection and deselection of the corresponding cookies).

This website also incorporates plugins and/or buttons for accessing social media networks, in order to allow easy sharing of content on your preferred social media networks. These plugins are programmed so as not to set any cookies when users access the page in order to safeguard the privacy of users.

However, the Controller cannot prevent cookies, if so provided by social networks, from collecting information. Any sending will be possible only when the uses makes an effective and voluntary use of the plugin.

The use of these links and therefore the transition to social media is subject to a previous and voluntary subscription by the data subject to the Social Network in question.

How to view and modify cookies through your navigation software (so-called browser)

The user can select which cookies to allow through the appropriate procedure provided in the ‘Cookies settings’ section, and to authorize, block or delete (in whole or in part) cookies through the specific functions of your navigation software (so-called browser): however, in the event that all or some of the cookies are disabled it is possible that the website appears not browsable or that certain services or certain functions of the site are not available or are not working properly and/or the user may be forced to change or manually enter some information or preferences each time he/she visit the Website.

Therefore, it is possible for the user to make a choice and to indicate specifically which cookies to authorize.

The user is aware that not allowing technical cookies may make it impossible to use the Website, view its contents and take advantage of the related services. Inhibiting cookies of functionality could mean that some services or certain functions of the Website are not available or do not work properly and the user may be forced to change or manually enter some information or preferences each time they visit the Website.

The lack of authorization with respect to other cookies indicated by third parties will not affect the operation of the Website; however, since such types of cookies are sent exclusively by third parties, and the Website manager cannot control the sending of such cookies to the user’s terminal, the relative objection can be exercised only by accessing the consent forms prepared by the aforementioned third parties, if any, or through the settings of your browser. The links to the privacy policies and any consent collection forms for the receipt of cookies prepared by the third parties that send cookies through the Website are provided in the section Types of cookies used by the Website.

As regards the cookies sent directly by the Website manager, as well as through the procedure available on this page, the user can block or delete (in whole or in part) cookies through the specific functions of their navigation browser (in this regard, see the above).

The choices made by the user in relation to cookies on the Website will in turn be recorded in a special technical cookie, having the characteristics shown in the appropriate table of cookies. In some circumstances such cookies may, however, not work properly: in such cases, we recommend you to delete unwanted cookies and inhibit their use through the functionality of your navigation browser.

Your preferences in relation to cookies will be reset if you use different devices, or browsers to access the site.
